The First and the foremost work which a Civil Engineer must do before the commencement of any project is Land Surveying.
Surveying has been an essential element in the development of the human environment since the beginning of recorded history (about 6,000 years ago).
It is required in the planning and execution of nearly every form of construction. Its most familiar modern uses are in the fields of transportbuilding and construction, communications, mapping, and the definition of legal boundaries for land ownership.
Sanrachna 15, MNIT Jaipur presents to you “Survey It”, the technical genre of our Golden Jubilee fest. Being an Engineer we have to always measure , each and every detail of the project site accurately, and prepare a well dimensioned and scaled map of the area.  
Survey It is meant to give you a platform to your measuring skills! It is an opportunity for those who never settles!! without finding the exact details of the work, and are crazy enough to get their results as fast as they can.


Objective:
This event is an open call for students studying in any of the year of Civil Engineering. But, the pre – requisite is that you must have an In depth knowledge of Surveying, theoretically as well as practically.


Vision:
To provide a platform to the students to gather their skills of planning and mensuration, to perform the task given during the field competition.

Project Areas:
Project topics may include Surveying, Advanced Surveying, including all the instruments used in the field for land surveying and location of the various points on the field over the map.


Team Structure and Size:


Each team may consist of a minimum 2 members and maximum 4 members, from the same or different disciplines of Engineering. The team should have one representative out of its members, who can be contacted for information.


About the Evaluation Rounds:
There shall be 2 rounds which shall judge your technical knowledge.


1) Round 1- The Screening Round/Qualifying Round.
It shall consist of a set of questions related to Surveying as a whole, including the Basics; Alignment; Chain Surveying; leveling; theodolite surveying; Total Station and other commonly used methods for surveying along with the Basic Instruments used In Surveying.
2) Round 2- The Face off Round/Field Round.
It shall consist of one or more task(s) of surveying, that the teams would have to complete within the stipulated time, and with a good degree of accuracy such that the data collected by them are close to the actual data with us.
